Ruby MCP: connect Ruby AI to Claude

Ruby MCP is Ruby AI's server for AI apps, built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI apps use to connect to tools. It is a two-way connection between Claude and your Ruby workspace: Claude reads the accounts, deals, meetings, research and files you already have in Ruby, asks Ruby when it needs more, and makes changes in Ruby only after you confirm them in the chat. Each rep connects once with their own Ruby login and sees only what they see in the Ruby app. Claude, including Claude Code, is supported today.

Why use Ruby MCP?

  • Reps who work in Claude get Ruby's deal context in the same chat. No switching tabs, no pasting notes across.

  • Answers come from Ruby's research and your own pipeline, not from general web knowledge.

  • Every change and every ruby spent is shown first and needs a yes in the chat. Claude cannot delete accounts, deals or other records in Ruby.

  • Each rep signs in with their own Ruby account. Claude sees exactly what that rep sees in Ruby, and nothing else.

How does Ruby MCP work?

Ruby MCP is a remote server at https://mcp.heyruby.ai/mcp. Claude adds it as a connector, as described in Claude's connector guide. Claude calls Ruby's tools over HTTPS: 13 read-only tools for your data and files, and separate tools for asking Ruby a question, confirming or declining a proposed change, and running campaigns.

Sign-in is OAuth with PKCE. Claude sends you to Ruby's own sign-in page, so Claude never sees your password. Claude is granted a single scope, ruby, which covers Ruby and nothing else. Access tokens last 24 hours and renew automatically. Each renewal issues a new refresh token and retires the old one. Tokens issued to Claude work only on Ruby MCP and are refused by the rest of Ruby's API.

Ruby checks your account on every call. If your Ruby account is disabled, Claude loses access within five minutes. Each rep is limited to 60 calls a minute, and 10 questions a minute to Ruby.

What does Ruby MCP put into Claude?

Your data, read on request. Each read tool returns one focused answer: a deal overview, a research section, a meeting brief, a list of up to 50 deals. Long results are trimmed to a fixed size, so Claude never receives a full export of your workspace.

Ruby's answers. A question to Ruby is answered the same way as in the Ruby app, from the same research. If an answer is still being worked on, Claude checks back for it. Every question is saved as a chat in Ruby, with a link to open it in the app, so the conversation also lives in Ruby.

Proposed changes with their price. When you ask for a change, Ruby replies with the exact action and its price in rubies. Nothing happens until you confirm. Confirming twice never runs it twice.

File links. Download links for files Ruby has on the account or deal, valid for 15 minutes each.

What can Ruby MCP do in Claude?

Answer pipeline questions from your own data. Search accounts and deals by name or website, list deals by status or close date, and see your dashboard: account and deal counts, open pipeline and your next meetings.

Open a deal in full. The deal's basics, health, risks, top next steps and stakeholder insights, plus every piece of work Ruby has produced for it, each readable in full on request.

Prepare for the next meeting. List meetings up to 60 days back or ahead, see which already have a brief, and read the brief Ruby wrote.

Hand over the right file. Claude lists the files Ruby holds for a deal or account, up to the newest 25, and gives you a download link for the one you want. Fetching an existing file does not cost a ruby.

Make changes without opening Ruby. Create an account from its website, create a deal, add a transcript, notes or a stakeholder, move or close a deal, or correct a fact. Ruby proposes each change with its price, and you confirm or decline it in the chat.

Run an outreach campaign end to end. Get a quote for an Intelligent Campaign for up to 20 accounts, given as Ruby accounts, websites or HubSpot company IDs, and start the campaign at that price. Then follow progress account by account, review contacts, drafted messaging and call prep, and push the messaging to HubSpot when you are happy with it. If the price changed since the quote, Ruby refuses to start and shows the new price. Ruby writes the messaging to HubSpot contacts but never enrolls anyone in a sequence.

Frequently asked questions

Which Claude plans can use Ruby MCP?

All of them: Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, only a Claude Owner can add Ruby, once, under Organization settings → Connectors; each rep then connects with their own Ruby login. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

What does it cost?

Ruby MCP costs nothing extra. Reading your data and files is free, each question to Ruby costs one ruby, and changes and campaigns show their price in rubies before you confirm.

Can Claude see deals I do not own?

No. Claude reads through your own Ruby account, so it sees exactly the accounts and deals the Ruby app shows you.

Can Claude change or delete things in Ruby on its own?

No. Every change, campaign and CRM push needs your yes in the chat. Deleting records is only possible in the Ruby app.

Does Ruby AI see my Claude conversations?

No. Ruby receives only what Claude sends to Ruby's tools, such as the question you ask Ruby.
